Whether you're a skilled worker, tradesperson, or physician, understanding the intricacies of a valid job offer can significantly impact your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. Let's break it down!

Overview: An offer of employment is vital in the Express Entry process for skilled immigrants. It validates your ability to contribute to the Canadian workforce and can earn you up to 50 or 200 extra CRS points.

Requirements for a Valid Job Offer:
1. Written and Recent: Must be in writing and typically issued within one month of submitting your eAPR.
2. Details of the Job: Includes pay, deductions, job duties, and work conditions. Excludes offers from embassies, high commissions, or consulates in Canada.

For Federal Skilled Workers and Canadian Experience Class:
• Continuous, paid, fulltime (30+ hours/week), nonseasonal, for at least one year postvisa.
• In NOC TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3.
• Backed by a new positive LMIA or current LMIAexempt work permit.

For Federal Skilled Trades Workers:
• Offers can come from up to two employers.
• Continuous, paid, fulltime work for at least one year in NOC TEER 2 and 3.
• Similar LMIA requirements as above.

‍⚕ Special Provision for Physicians:
• Effective April 25, 2023, foreign national physicians with a job offer for publicly funded medical services can claim points even if the job isn’t continuous or doesn’t last one year postvisa.

Documenting the Job Offer:
• Update Express Entry Profile with start date, employer’s details, LMIA number (if applicable), and NOC code.
• Clearly outline job conditions, including hours and pay.

Assessing Job Offer Validity:
• LMIA Exemption: Some jobs may be exempt but still require a valid offer.
• Ability to Perform the Job: Officers assess if you can perform the job and meet licensing requirements.

Points for Job Offer:
• Boosts CRS score significantly. Provincial or territorial certification may be needed for certain trades.

• LMIA or Exempt Status: Know if your job offer requires an LMIA.
• Regulated Professions: Ensure you meet licensing requirements.
• Validity of Job Offer: Ensure it meets all IRCC criteria.
