Many of us have a strong emotional connection to our childhood homes. The place we grew up, shared warm memories, and felt love and connection. As we grow, move away, and leave that beautiful refuge, the heart doesn’t forget. We often dream of going back and experiencing those memories that made us who we are.
I had a sweet friend contact me to surprise her husband with a very special gift; a painting of his childhood home. I was touched that she thought of me to make that wish come true. Although it isn’t my own childhood home, I got very emotional throughout the process, as I thought of my own home growing up.
I hope this beautiful time lapse of my drawing and painting process stirs warm feelings of childhood within you.
This oil painting was done on a 16x20” canvas, and took approximately 50 hours to complete.
