Capitalism good.

This track is from Oingo Boingo's 1st studio album called "Only A Lad", released back in 1981 by A&M Records through I.R.S. Records. Oingo Boingo themselves were signed to I.R.S. back in the early 80s, when the label's releases were distributed by A&M Records. During the A&M/I.R.S. years, the band released their first three studio albums, which besides 1981's "Only A Lad", included 1982's "Nothing To Fear" and 1983's "Good For Your Soul". I've already done an extended mix of a track from "Nothing To Fear" so as far as the A&M albums go, I plan on doing an extended mix of a track from "Good For Your Soul" next.

"Capitalism" as a standalone track is quite the oddball but far from unusual in terms of Oingo Boingo songs. It's a satirical song that tackles on the pro capitalist perspective and those who oppose it, and while politics aren't exactly my cup of tea, it's still a fun track to listen to both lyrically and musically.

In terms of the editing process, it's the same as every other extended mix I've done out of Oingo Boingo tracks. I extract the vocals, instrumental and the instruments that make up the instrumental itself into separate audio tracks. I use the Demucs4 HT Ai separation tool for the audio extracting process, which you can use by going to mvsep.com and selecting it from the list of HQ models. Anyway, once I'm done with that, I proceed with the actual editing process in Audacity, where I mess around with the separate audio tracks to create the final product that you're listening to.

In case you're wondering, I sourced the audio from the 2021 Rubellan Remasters CD release of said 1st studio album.

Like I've said in the descriptions of previous Oingo Boingo extended mixes posted onto this channel, I hope you enjoy. I really like doing these extended mixes as it helps with occupying myself in the vast amount of free time that I have. I plan on doing more in the future, so stay tuned for that!
