This video shows the neverbeforeseen ebb and flow of soil water across the state of Oklahoma at 800m (1/2 mile) resolution for three depths (5, 25, and 60 cm; or 2, 10, and 24 inches) from 1997 through 2023 with a daily time step. The video was produced by Evan Linde (Oklahoma State University High Performance Computing Center) using data from the Oklahoma Automated Soil Information System (OASIS). That system applies an automated mapping algorithm to soil moisture data from the Oklahoma Mesonet. Data can be viewed and downloaded at http://soilmoisture.okstate.edu/.
