In twenty years, the number of prisoners over the age of sixty has multiplied by five. Today, 337 inmates are in their 70s and 22 in their 80s. Three, including Maurice Papon, are in their nineties. Among them, some are physically dependent, while prisons are not equipped to accommodate such a population, many of whom are disabled. In prison, dependent, impotent or incontinent prisoners must fend for themselves. Prison is a world designed for healthy people.
