Oldest Historical And Deserted Fort In District Sheikhupura Of Punjab Pakistan

In this video we will visit you the oldest, historical and deserted Sheikhupura fort. This fort is 417 years old famous as a haunted fort. The dangerous basements are present under the every room of it. One Rani Palace, Sheesh Mahal and two wells were constructed here which depth is 58 feet and diameter is 8 feet. This fort was constructed by Mughal Emperor Saleem Noorudin Jahangir in 1607 to give ordered his specialist hunter Sikandar Amin. According to TuzkeJahangiri the total area of this fort is 64 canals 13 Marla’s. The saying of this an ancient fort that the order to construct of this fort released in 1606 and regular construction was in 1607. This is not a traditional fort. The Emperor Jahangir along with his companions and army stayed in this fort during the hunt. This fort is situated on a mound in south eastern corner of District Sheikhupura of Punjab. The height of walls of this fort is 38 feet and width is 22 feet. An ancient shrine is also present besides the wall of this fort which is said that this shrine is present here before the construction of this fort. Today this Sheikhupura fort has become deserted completely and presents a view of ruins. The various stories are famous about this fort that here Rani's ghost appears or the head cut looks human is seen. Many deaths have been occurred in this fort. An ancient time there was a big and thick forest around this fort and this was a best place for hunting. Emperor Jahangir came here for hunting with his family here. This is the reason that fort was constructed for residential purpose. Earlier this name of this area was Jahangirpura then Sheikhupura became famous due to Emperor Jahangir because the mother of Jahangir called him Sheikhu with love. Sheikhupura is the 16th big city of Pakistan to population and a District of a Punjab. Jahangir constructed a Hiran Minar here in the memory of his beloved Hiran Mansraj. This fort has now become ruins and the incidents took place here due to its poor condition. Therefore the last sign of Mughals has been closed for public completely. The Archaeology Department is trying its best to revive this fort which takes its last breath. The restoration of this fort is not possible perhaps however the plans are under observation to open soon for public some parts of this fort after repair. If this fort has constructed as a new the billions of rupees required which will not be possible at any cost. Some years ago in 2010 an agreement was signed of 10 lac dollars between America and Pakistan to restore this fort but alas no implementation was done over it. In 1799 the Sikhs occupied on this fort after Mughals decline and they used this fort for administrative and residential affairs as well because it had an important geographical position. Maharaja Ranjeet Singh's wife Maharani Datar Kaur lived in this fort. Her son Kharak Singh was also with her which was hand over this fort. According to a tradition the age of Kharak Singh was 8 years at that time. Maharani Datar Kaur here constructed a Rani Palace and a Sheesh Mahal was constructed on the top floor of this Rani Palace. After the decline of Sikhs the English's occupied on this fort and they became this fort for their Headquarter. In 1849 to 1851 during the British Rule this fort was used as a Headquarter of District Gujranwala because this was not a defense fort. This fort was occupied by different people in different times but it heard that this fort was occupied on the custody of robbers which used to hide here after crime and they famous this fort as a haunted fort so that no one come here. After Sikhs decline in British Rule the famous Maharani of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh, Maharani Jind Kaur was locked here till a long time. In 1947, after the establishment of Pakistan a migrants camp was set up here. A tunnel was constructed towards Hiran Minar which is not remain now. But the people of surrounding areas dug up for the construction of their homes they found the sign of tunnel. Now the construction of Mughals in this fort becomes seen few but the construction buildings of Sikhs Era become seen in better condition.
