Boswellia Sacra is a tree that produces a gum that has bewitched pharaohs, kings and emperors for millennia. Its manufacturing, an activity that is lost in the mists of time, has ensured the lasting prosperity of the country. The trade in this gum is attested well before the Christian era.

Thus was born the incense route which, since Antiquity, has linked Dhofar to the rest of the world.
