OM-Workspace -- DxO Photolab6 -- Topaz Gigapixel comparisons

This video, presenting a raw conversion experiment with the OM1 camera was inspired by Thomas Eisel's recent argument that native camera manufacturer's conversion programs are better than third party software. In this experiment I've compared jpg images generated by OM Workspace and DxO Photolab, using their newest and strongest noise reduction systems. My finding is that with low light and noisy images Photolab produces better results than Workspace. On the other hand, I think Thomas is right in writing to me: "When you use an AI tool it is like hiring a painter to redraw a more detailed image. The painter can interpolate based on his former experiences, but he cannot accurately recreate what was not recorded in the first place." The question is which result is more pleasing. On the one hand it is a matter of taste, on the other, it depends on the quality of the original raw file and it may differ from image to image.
