One Day in the Port of Vigo Spain - Sights Snacks and Sips

This video will help you navigate the port city of Vigo, Spain. It lies just north of Portugal on the coast of Galicia. It is an easy port to manage on foot without a tour, howe ver, it is built in ascending terraces and requires uphill walking or climbing stairs. For snacks, Vigo offers tapas or pintxos like pulpo (squid), paella (rice with a medley of seafood and vegetables), mussels and sangria.

The Rug de Principe is the main pedestrian boulevard with lots of shopping. The Castro de Vigo is an 2000 year old archeological site, the Parque del Monte Cristiana is a lovely park and the Castiello do Casto offers views of the city down to the coast. Make sure to visit the old town of Casco Vella.

Just outside Vigo, you can visit O Grove for beaches, nature and hot springs, Cabados, noted for its white wine called Albarino, Combarro, a small, mystical seaside town known for harboring witches, and Baiaona, a small town lying on the famous route of the Camino de Santiago de Campostela where the Pinta returned after "discovering" the New World.

Wear comfortable shoes, enjoy the views and take in the art and architecture throughout the port city of Vigo, Spain.
