I don't know of many lenses this old that you can still buy today in their unchanged form, but the Nikon 55mm f2.8 AIs is a lens which defines that idea of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

A true old AND gold lens, this is one of the best value's in modern digital photography today given its amazing performance and super cheap used price!

I'd highly recommend checking it out if you are after a good portrait/macro lens, it won't dissapoint!
