Today, we reflect on one of the most stunning and gifted American singers of the 1980s. Were you aware of her proficiency in Spanish singing as well? This serves as a tribute to Laura Branigan. Her full name was Laura Ann Branigan, hailing from Irish and Italian ancestry, born in New York on July 3, 1952. From a young age, she harbored a passion for both performance and music. Facing financial constraints within her family, she worked as a waitress to fund her theater lessons at the New York Academy of Dramatic Arts. In the music realm, she commenced her journey as a supporting vocalist for the Canadian singersongwriter Leonard Cohen and briefly joined a band named Meadow. It wasn't until 1979 that she secured her initial contract with Atlantic Records. However, her debut album faced delays in release as the label grappled with promoting her due to her exceptionally powerful voice, spanning four octaves.

NOTE: Both her father and grandfather died of aneurysms. She had a headache for a few days. However, she did not see a doctor. So that's what the headline is about.
