One Picket Planter Plans:

one picket. one planter. no fluff intro.

grab one of those pickets you organized so neatly and rip one strip at 11/4 inches. Move the table saw fence to 1" and rip one more strip

slide to the left, miter saw this time.

we will be using the 1" strip to make the legs. cut eight pieces at 71/2"".

sit the 11/4" aside for later.

with the remaining board, we cut 6 pieces at 61/4" and four pieces at 71/2".

it took a little tinkering to get to these results. I wanted the box to resemble a baby version of the three picket planter and still be kind of a cube shape.

to assemble we first take two of the longer 71/2" boards. Im using the term "longer" quite loosely here.

put those two boards together like this, and squirt a little glue down the sides.

go ahead and pop a comment of how many nails this planter is going to take.

take our baby legs and align them with the side, and nail them into place.

repeat this process one more time.

take your adorable little sides and stand them up like this. apply glue down the inside lip, place your 61/4" boards inside and nail them into place.

then, flip it around and repeat for the other side.

this might be a little tricky if you have a larger nail gun, if that is the case, you can nail the sides inplace from the exterior of the box. I just like to hide the nails on the interior when possible.

the nice thing with this box is that you do not need to rip the bottoms to fit

align them with the bottom and nail them into place.

drill a few holes for drainage and walla. an adorable baby planter.

hold me closer tiny planter, stay on the patio away from the highwayyyy

another option is to rip those bottom boards down a little thinner and install them as slats, so you can put a pot inside. works better for plants being kept indoors.
