One Rescuer CPR for Adults lesson by the CPR Certification Institute (Health Ed Solutions Authorized Training Center). Stephanie Flores, a Certified Physician Assistant and Health Ed Solutions instructor, provides a thorough and stepbystep breakdown on performing CPR on an adult with one rescuer. She gives an indepth look on how to do the following steps:

✔ Checking Scene Safety/Alert EMS
✔ Using Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, mask with 1 way valve)
✔ Checking Patient Responsiveness
✔ Checking for breathing and brachial pulse simultaneously
✔ Performing CPR

Here are other key concepts to remember:
CPR is performed when a victim is unresponsive, doesn't have normal breathing, and has no pulse.
To find the carotid pulse, place 2 fingers on the neck between the trachea and the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
Perform compressions at a rate 100 to 120/min at a depth of 22.4 inches.
Make sure to allow full chest recoil between each compressions.
For full CPR, give 2 rescue breaths after 30 compressions.
