Opioid induced esophageal dysfunction - Dan Patel

Follow
ISDE Diseases of the Esophagus

The approach to managing achalasia has been streamlined, but the management of nonachalasia motility disorders remains challenging. The ISDE (International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus) hosted a virtual presentation focused on the evaluation and management of nonachalasia motility disorders moderated by Michael Vaezi, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, USA.

During this 60minute presentation, panelists discussed opioidinduced esophageal dysfunction, nonachalasia spastic disorders (jackhammer, distal esophageal spasm), and hypomotility disorders (ineffective esophageal motility and esophageal aperistalsis).
