New Opportunity card (Chancenkarte) is introduced just recently in Germany to provide the foreign skilled professionals an opportunity to come to Germany and seek an employment. Chancenkarte or opportunity card is a new version of German job seeker visa. Previous Work search visa for Germany was issued for a period of 6 months only, whereas the new opportunity card or Chancenkarte will be issued for a period of 1 year with a possibility to extend it for another 2 years. This will give enough time to the foreign qualified professionals to search for a qualified job and convert their opportunity card into residence permit.
Chancenkarte or opportunity card for Germany is one of many ways to enter Germany in a quickly and legally. The requirements to acquire opportunity card are quite simple. Those who have acquired German university degree or German diploma (Ausbildung) are eligible to apply for opportunity card. Also if the foreign university degree or foreign diploma is recognized completely in Germany, and the applicant has either A1 level German certificate or B2 level of English language certificate, he/she qualifies for the opportunity card for Germany.
