Orange cake, a soft, fluffy and moist cake recipe, so easy that it will surprise you. At home we love this cake, with such a simple decoration it looks very cute and tastes delicious, it does not need anything else, although of course you can also cut it, fill it and decorate it with a simple glaze or with chocolate, you will see that in any way, accompanied you will enjoy a coffee a lot.

Ingredients for the Orange Cake (20 Cm in Diameter).
220 gr of Allpurpose Flour (1 3/4 Cups).
30 gr of cornstarch (3 Tbsp).
250 gr of granulated white sugar or caster sugar (1 1/4 Cup).
180 gr of unsalted butter (2 bars).
70 gr of neutral Vegetable oil (I use sunflower oil, 8 Tbsp).
5 gr of baking powder (1 3/4 tsp)
1/4 tsp of Salt.
The zest of 1 Orange.
120 ml of Orange Juice (1/2 Cup).
4 Eggs (200 gr of liquids).

Syrup:
120 ml of water (1/2 Cup).
3 Tbsp Orange Juice.
1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice.
90 gr of Sugar (1/2 Cup minus 1 Tbsp).

Decoration:
Icing sugar.
1 Slice of Orange.

Tips and Recommendations:
1. I use the oil to make the cake more moist, but if you like you can substitute the quantity of oil for butter.
2. If you don't have cornstarch, just use 30 grams more of flour instead.
3. The syrup is totally optional.
4. You can decorate like me using icing sugar or you can use a simple glaze by mixing icing sugar with a little orange juice / Water / milk or you can cover the cake with chocolate ganache.
5. If you prefer, you can divide the dough into two 20 cm baking pans, in that case you should check the baking time because will be reduced to about 25 to 30 min. If you make them separately or you decide to cut cake, you can fill it with cream pastry, lemon cream etc.
