If you've ever had an ostomy wafer that cut into your skin, you might want to see if this video helps!
I use Opsite Flexifix (Smith & Nephew P/N 66000040) , but 3M Tegaderm will work too.

You won't need to use this method for all wafers, but I tend to find that ridged wafers (Coloplast Xpro, Asura, etc.) are problematic, so this trick helps a lot.
