Otis Redding Plane Crash Site in Madison. On December 10, 1967, Otis Redding was scheduled to play a concert at The Factory at 315 W. Gorham in Madison, Wisconsin. Otis and his band had been in Cleveland and were flying to Madison with pilot Richard Fraser in poor weather conditions. Otis Redding's plane crashed here in Lake Monona. I will show you where it happened and tell the story. We will also visit the location of the music venue where the concert was supposed to happen.
