Yeah i get its play on 7 string on some downtuning but still this riff you can play on any guitar. And many new guitarist start on 7 string of downtuned to C and lower. Myself start on E standard and i am bigg beliver to start with normal chords. But in other hand back then we dont have YT and so many amazing ways to learn guitar so we learn by ear or (many times wrong) tabs
