Overclocking your joystick or controller is something that EVERY professional player in existance does, however it has always been a pretty well kept secret. It gives you less latency and the same feeling as if you were playing with 240Hz instead of 144Hz, as if you had double the FPS. It's crucial for games like Call of Duty, especially in competitive or in Warzone, but it works for ANY game out there.

8000Hz is what you're looking for with a PS5 dualshock, 1000Hz is the maximum for an Xbox controller.
