Overloaded Container Almost FLIPS my Rotator! Could this be the heaviest I've ever lifted off the side? Nope, but definitely up there. I said it was 50,000lb in the video, but these 20' containers are always between 4050k. In hindsight, this had to be every bit of 60,000lb. I truly regret not using my load cells, but I did not figure it would be this much. The driver stated 30,000lbs over the phone, and like a rookie, I took him for his word and added 10,000lb to be safe.

Just by looking at the chassis, that tells me everything I needed to know. You do not do that kind of damage to a 3 axle chassis by being safe. This was on a super busy day, with all drivers plus Alex out on their own calls. I lifted Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator off the side, so I knew I could handle this container. It was either that, or wait well over an hour on the freeway for a second truck. CHP has jurisdiction over the freeways, so if I did that, I very well could have lost the job.

I go over this in great detail, but despite how bad it might look, my truck was not in any real danger to me. Watch my explanation video towards the end to see why. I already know the armchair quarterbacks will skip all that just to come to the comments and tell me how much I suck LOL.

Either way, the job was super heavy and at the end, I got it off the bad chassis and onto the new one which was only a 2 axle chassis. We didn't get the call to assist after that so that must mean they made it to their destination safe and sound.
