▶ OVERTIME PAY (Everything You Need to Know)
• Overtime Pay in Ontario and Overtime Pay in BC.

1⃣ Who qualifies for overtime pay? 13:15
• Employees who work more than 44 hours per week are owed overtime pay. They are entitled to 1.5 times their pay per hour. Managers are generally exempt from overtime pay.

2⃣ As a salaried employee, am I entitled to overtime pay? How is overtime pay calculated for salaried employees? 14:29
• Divide your weekly salary by 44 for your hourly rate. Multiple that amount by 1.5 to get the final hourly amount for salaried employees.

3⃣ Can your employer make you work overtime? 14:59
• An employer cannot make you work overtime if they aren't your regular hours of work. It also depends on your employment contract or history of employment with the company.

4⃣ What if your employer doesn’t want you to work overtime, but you need to? 16:00
• If you legitimately need to work overtime, the company cannot stop you from doing it, and give you overtime pay.

5⃣ What should you do if you are not getting paid for your overtime hours? 17:07
• Keep track of your hours. You can file a complaint with the Ministry of Labour or Employment Standards Branch. You may also be able to treat this as a Constructive Dismissal.
