Pacific Rim Kaijus Size Comparison

Follow
The Buzz

Kaiju weights are pretty offscale and their sizes are not even 10% of Godzilla. Yeah, the movie depicts them really well, but the stats we've been given for their masses from the Man, Machines, & Monsters artbook are scientifically way off. For their volume, they'd literally constantly float above water according to their masses. They're far too light for their volumes, and as a result, their density is lower than that of water. So most Kaiju wouldn't be able to say underwater. The movies are canon, however, so we can safely say that the stats from the artbook aren't canon because the Kaiju do indeed sink. The Raiju/Scunner/Slattern fight would have been hilarious at the end of the Kaiju really weighed that much, or there wouldn't even be a fight. Artbook looks amazing, and I gotta get it sometime, but the stats don't match up. I believe Knifehead's mass in the movie is more scientifically accurate, but when I edited it to the correct mass (given in the movie) on Knifehead's page, the mod on this site kept changing it back to the noncanon mass given in the artbook.
