I'm thrilled to be a member of the Facebook group Etude of the Week, started by Katy Wherry! As a member of the group, I've recorded numerous etudes over the past couple years, and I wanted take a few and upload them here to my channel. :)

Participating in EOTW has encouraged me to keep a consistent practice of etudes. It's helped me learn to accept and be comfortable sharing my flaws. It's also helped me practice staying grounded and trusting under pressure.

Here were the thoughts that I originally posted with this etude:
"Finally decided to hit record on Paganini No. 2! I knew this would be a test of focus and my ability to stay grounded for quite a duration, because whenever I’d play through the whole thing, I’d end up wound up in knots and exhausted by the end.

I decided that feeling my feet and taking it one part at a time was the goal, and I was shocked that I made it through on the second try with greater success than I was expecting! (My eyes were starting to get overwhelmed by page two, and my thoughts kept moving between: “you made it this far, don’t mess u... feel—your—feet.”)

All previous Etude of the Weeking has really stepped up my ability to focus under pressure in preparation for these! Grateful for the opportunity to be challenged! "
