Hi! It's Lois here, today's demo looks at painting MOVEMENT, LIGHT & ENERGY in this loose watercolour landscape, with a stormy sky over a rugged Yorkshire moor in early spring, before the leaves appear on the oak trees.

I'm using Saunders Waterford cold pressed paper, 11" x 15"/28cms x 38cms, but use whichever size you prefer. My colours today are cobalt blue, sap green, perylene green, Indigo, burnt sienna, yellow ochre and neutral tint. I use various brushes as shown in the demo, but please feel free to use any similar or ones that you prefer.
The focus is on painting loose, concentrating on getting light and movement in the stormy sky, and variety on the moorland hillside while keeping things loose and fresh.
