Use this technique and your fabric and velvet will not be crunchy. The key is to “dye” it with DIY brand paint. Others may work but I haven’t tried them! Normally with DIY clay Paint or most chalk type paint you need to seal with a wax or water base top coat. When you Dye fabric you can also do that. I did not seal this chair and no paint comes off on my skin or clothes. It will seal itself in 6 months.
