In this episode we reveal (with complete seriousness and great personal risk) the most accurate markers of all time, and the industrysecret features and characteristics they have in common that put them at the top of the game.

Okay, Just kidding. :) In this episode we engage in a friendly, conspiracytheorythemed spoof of some of the marketing hype, silly logic, and junk science that has been employed over the years by players (and, in some unfortunate cases, by members of the industry itself), to contribute to the mystique of certain kinds of marker platforms.

And so that it is crystal clear, and to avoid any potential ill will or hurt feelings, none of the markers featured are being denigrated in any way. After all, I own them!

Moreover, none of the current companies producing the specific examples featured here have, to my knowledge, made any of the absurd claims described. However, I have heard members of the playing public make these arguments about all of these platforms, including most of the specific examples featured, hence the need for some humorous medicine.

The point is to encourage rational and clear thinking in the face of such claims, especially when they come from trusted (or popular) sources. Remember: we act (and spend our money) according to how we think.

We also set up next week's episode, in which we examine how these mistaken beliefs have arisen, and consider also the possibility that some platforms, while not objectively more accurate than others, may simply be better suited to certain players.
