How to paint realistically while still being free and working quickly with oil paint. This is my new challenge and I am on journey to make this an easy, fun process. This video shares my thoughts and struggles with regards to working more gesturally, allowing my brush work to show and the paint to be more textured. I am painting a lion here. This is Vayetse from the Kevin Richardson Foundation. I photographed him while I was there in March, and so feel very powerfully connected to this painting.
