Painting BACKLIT TREES ✶ getting used to oil painting outside

Follow
Sarah Burns Studio

In this video I demonstrate how I use the Guerrilla Painter Pochade ThumBox 6x8 with water mixable oils. Painting backlit trees proved to be a challenge, especially because I was in the shade and it was freezing that day! But it was still enjoyable and I look forward to more painting trips to this forest.
At the time of filming, I was still new to oil painting outside, and boy is it a struggle, especially in winter!

Materials:
Guerrilla Painter Pochade ThumBox 6x8
6x8 Guerrilla Cartón Plein Air Panel
Winsor & Newton Water Mixable Oil Colours
Liquin Impasto medium
