When work on the Ozark Midland & Southern Railway commenced earlier this year, the decision was made to utilize Lionel's Fastrack realizing that it was not the most prototypical or realistic track system. Fastrack was, however, easy to use, reliable, and readily available. Most recently while crafting two tunnels for the OM&S, the question arose as to whether or not the track beneath the tunnels should be painted before the tunnels were permanently installed.
In this video I consider the question to paint or not to paint the rails of my Lionel Fastrack. To help answer my question I explore three techniques of painting the rails. To learn how I answered the question above you are going to have to watch the video.
As a full disclosure, I should mention that previously I have painted the rails of my tracks, but in those cases I was not using Lionel's Fastrack. Bill B.
