An hours Metro ride from Paris and we’ve arrived at the incredible Château de Versailles, dating back to the seventeenth century this vast palace and gardens cover 800 hectares. Take it from me, it pays to plan your visit, the lines you see in the video to get into the palace are for people with tickets and to visit inside was fully booked a week in advance so sadly I didn’t get the opportunity to see inside. We do however have the opportunity to explore the gardens, and wonderful fountains, I was most impressed with the Bosquet de la Colonnade, a circle of columns featuring a ring of fountains. The weather wasn’t great but its such a beautiful place to visit, well worth the journey out of Paris and a lovely place to bring a picnic in summer.
