Originally from a small city in southeast Iran, Paria Asadi embarked on a courageous journey to Canada at just 18 years old, accompanied by her younger sister. The transition to a new country and language barriers posed formidable obstacles, but Paria's indomitable spirit and drive propelled her forward.

Her journey at Concordia University began in January 2020. From day one, Paria was determined to excel and make the most of every opportunity. "I remember being very determined and entering Ian Ferguson’s office in my first few days at Concordia to ask, ‘How can I finish my bachelor’s in two years instead of four?’ He just said, ‘Why would you want to do that? Just take your time.’ Over time, I realized there are many opportunities at Concordia, and it’s better to take your time and make the most of them."

Originaire d’une petite ville du sudest de l’Iran, Paria Asadi a entrepris un courageux périple vers le Canada à l’âge d’à peine 18 ans, en compagnie de sa jeune sœur. L’établissement dans un nouveau pays et les barrières linguistiques ont entraîné d’énormes obstacles, mais Paria a maintenu le cap grâce à son courage et sa détermination.

Son parcours à l’Université Concordia a commencé en janvier 2020. Dès le premier jour, Paria était résolue à exceller et à profiter de toutes les occasions qui s’offriraient à elle. « Je me souviens d’avoir été très déterminée et d’être entrée dans le bureau du professeur Ian Ferguson pour lui demander : “Comment puisje obtenir mon baccalauréat en deux ans plutôt que quatre?”, ce à quoi il a répondu : “Pour quelle raison? Vous devriez prendre votre temps”. Au fil du temps, j’ai compris que Concordia avait beaucoup à offrir et qu’il valait mieux prendre son temps et tirer parti de toutes les occasions. »
