Welcome to Mater Mothers’ Hospitals’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit. The birth of a new baby is an exciting time, but having a baby that needs admission to a neonatal unit, particularly intensive care, can be challenging.

This area of intensive care has a focus on caring for premature babies, particularly our smallest and most premature babies. But we also provide care to fullterm babies who are unexpectedly unwell after birth.

If your baby is born premature, our dedicated team will be present at their birth to provide support and care right from the beginning of their life.
