Participle clauses - English grammar lesson

Follow
Crown Academy of English

Participle clauses enable us to say things in a more economical way with fewer words.

We mainly use participle clauses in written English, particularly in an academic or journalistic style.

There are 3 types of participle clauses:

Present participle clauses
Past participle clauses (mainly used in passive voice)
Perfect participle clauses ("having" + past participle. Can be used in active voice or passive voice)

In this video, I explain each type in detail with examples.

This English lesson was presented by Andrew, a qualified native British English teacher with over 15 years experience of teaching English.
