Flowers are the most beautiful and reproductive parts of the flowering plants. They are made up of several parts, each having a distinct function in reproduction. The sepals, petals, stamen, pistil, pedicle, and receptacle are the main parts of flowers.
Sepals: Sepals are the outermost part of the flower and are usually seen in green colour. In some flowers they become coloured.
Petals: Petals are the most beautiful part of the flower and it seen in different colours, sizes and shapes. the main function of petals is to attract pollinators.
Stamen: The male reproductive part of the flower is the stamen. It consists of two parts; filament and anther.
Pistil: Pistil is the female reproductive part of the flower. they contain three parts; stigma, style and ovary.
Pedicile: The Pedicle are also known as the stem of the flower.
Receptacle: The flower stems' edge, where all the flower parts are joined, is the receptacle.
