In this narrated Pastel Pencil Study, I discuss the do's and don'ts of how I create skin tones on a baby's face ... This was created especially for a request from one of my Patrons on Patreon. This is just a visual aid to help you see what happens when too much white pigment is added under the colour glazes and other considerations such as values and edges. I love to share my techniques and tips for pastel Portraits. This video footage has been slowed down to Real time speed in places so you can take a closer look.

Carbothello pencils are... green 1400/585, red... 305, orange, 221, lemon yellow 205, yellow ochre 685 and white 100. I don't use this brand's blues as the lightfastness is very poor. so, I use Conti a Paris ones for them, ... No10, No 06, No 22 and No46. Also, the purple red for the deep shadows ... No19


If you can afford it, I would recommend buying the all the brands I use as sets as the extra colours would be very useful for clothes and backgrounds and can work out cheaper per pencil... affiliate links below.
