Developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts, Dante's Inferno is a 2010 actionadventure game that takes players on a harrowing quest through the depths of Hell. Released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Portable (with the latter version developed by Artificial Mind and Movement), the game loosely follows the story of Inferno, the first part of Divine Comedy. Players take on the role of Dante, reimagined as a Templar knight from The Crusades, who must battle through the nine circles of Hell to save his beloved Beatrice from the clutches of Lucifer. With the spirit of the poet Virgil as his guide, Dante embarks on a perilous journey, armed with a powerful scythe that can be used in a variety of devastating combination attacks and finishing moves. As players progress through the game, they can unlock new attack combinations and abilities by collecting souls, the ingame currency obtained by defeating the denizens of Hell.
