Hello to my lovely friends! Now that my Little Women series is finally complete, we can move onto some super fun pieces I've had waiting in line! First up: PEARL! As some of you know, I am a HUUUGGEE horror fan and absolutely loved both of Ti West's films this year! I even cosplayed Pearl for Halloween! I really love the universe that Ti West created with both "X" and "Pearl". I think they are some of the best horror flicks to come out of this year! ❤ I love how both films captured the essence of their respected time periods. As for "Pearl", the early 1900s midwestern setting was on full display and it did not disappoint. I loved how this movie leaned into the aesthetic of the early days of the film and entertainment industry with its poster and logo design.

In this scene, Pearl delivers a sortof soliloquy to her awayatwar husband as the reality of the murders she's committed and the failures she's endured start to sink in. She discusses her longstanding yearning to leave her family farm and the hope that was destroyed when her husband decided to keep them there. (BTW The original monologue is nearly 8 minutes long!!!)

This was by far my FAVORITE scene out of the entire film! Mia Goth is one of my absolute FAVORITE Scream Queens and she is SUCH a talented actress. Watching this in the theater was gripping and you could tell how much work she put into it. It was truly like I was watching someone talking to themselves Bravo, Mia!! ✨

Have you seen "PEARL" yet??!! What did you think??! I think I liked "X" better overall but I still had such a great time with this one and totally recommend it!

Truth is, I’m not really a good person. The reason I kept my eyes to the ground around other men was never to avoid hurting you. It’s because I understood how lucky I was to have your attention. I may be a poor farm girl, Howard, but I’m not stupid. I spotted you the moment you came to live with us. You worked hard, like the other farm hands, but you were different. You were from somewhere. A nice, comfortable place that you could return to whenever you wanted. I was so desperate to have that. All my life I've wanted off this farm and you were my ticket out. So, I made sure to never let you see who I really was, It worked like a charm too and then when you finally brought me back to your home to meet your family, it was just as I’d hoped. A life straight out of the pictures. At least that’s what it felt like to me. And you didn’t want it. You just wanted to stay here on our farm and that made me so angry. How could you? I’m certain you knew I hated it here, you must’ve. How could you be so selfish and cruel after all I done to make you happy?
