Part one in a series looking in detail at all the functions, effects, amp models and controls of the fabulous Peavey Vypyr Tube 60 combo with UK demonstrator Tom Allen from Peavey.

The Vypyr 60 is part of the new range of modeling amplifier combos created by Peavey...but it has a trick up it's sleeve in the form of a 6L6 tube power amplifier! It also utilises 32 bit floating point SHARC processors so that the modelling software can make accurate detailed representations of the amp emulations.

The Vypyr 60 houses a 12" custom voiced modeling loud speakers which, when combined with the valve power amp, kicks out 60 watts RMS, 24 amp models are represented configured as 12 clean and 12 dirty from some of the world's most popular guitar amplifiers. Aside from this there's 11 editable rack effects and 11 editable foot pedal effects with the option of up to 5 effects running simultaneously ...

There's also an optional Sanpera II footpedal that you can purchase that can hold up to 400 patches and gives access to a phrase looper, not forgetting the studio quality headphone out socket, chromatic tuner and the Tap Tempo control for configuring delay timings.
