#Horto is located 46 km south of the city of #Volos. It is said that the Venetians in the Middle Ages were so impressed by the diverse vegetation and #beauty of this site, that they began to use the Latin word "Hortus" which means garden / #paradise. Indeed, the human eye is witnessing here beautiful bluegreen images of #Greek nature.

Horto, in southern Pelion, is a picturesque #destination for relaxing and quality #summer #holidays. Green slopes, olive groves, stone houses built next to each other, almost by the shore, samples of the brilliant Pelion #architecture, the characteristic little bridge, the fishing boats, and the #seaside with clear blue waters. The three small #beaches of the #village are suitable for children, while the #taverns and restaurants with #delicacies and local specialties complete this wonderful frame!

The moments of #relaxation and #revitalization that you will experience in this place will be unforgettable, while you will feel grateful for the warm #hospitality of the locals!

Many #hiking #trails start from the village. They are the wellknown kalderimia, cobbled streets, through which the #transportation was made for centuries. Through beautiful routes you will discover #mountain destinations such as the villages of #Argalasti and #Lafkos or neighboring exotic #coves like #Pau beach.

Continuing south, we meet #Olive beach and Vathia #Spilia beach. You will love them at first sight! Above the second beach there is the wonderful cave of #Centaur #Chiron that you must discover! The images are stunning…

Next stop is the settlement of Milina. Here you will find everything you are looking for for your summer vacation. Landscapes and images that #relax your senses. Cosy and elegant #cafes, taverns by the shore with fantastic dishes of Greek cuisine. Excellent #hospitality, #idyllic atmosphere and all this at competitive #prices!

Those who have their own #boat can discover #monasteries, pristine beaches and sea caves on the nearby shores or on the 2 islands next to Milina. #Alatas and #Prassouda, as well as #Tzasteni beach, one of the most beautiful in Pelion! Alternatively you can take sailing lessons or rent a boat for countless sea excursions!

You have just watched another video that is witnessing the incomparable beauty of #nature, combined with the ancient knowledge and folk #tradition that make the myths of the past survive to this day through the effort and zeal of the inhabitants.

In this excursion you will find a deeper meaning behind the picturesque villages and the beaches with the crystal clear waters. The #energy of the area and the images that are imprinted in the mind and heart of the visitor, will fill the batteries, and help leave behind all the stress, sorrows and thoughts…

The land of Pelion will reward you richly. Paradise on earth has a name and is located in Greece!

Milina (which is not the same as Milies) is a seaside village on the west coast of Pelion. Although a bit remote and located in the less popular and visited south half of the peninsula, it is relatively large and populated, and in some aspects it reminds of Afissos.

Milina has a long promenade with plenty of cafeterias, restaurants, bakeries and pastry shops and like all villages facing the Pagasitikos gulf, it also offers great sunset view on the background of mirror smooth sea. There is no beach however except for the tiny narrows strips in front of some cafes, with a few sunbeds for the customers. North and south of the village, along the road, you can find small pebbly coves. If you go north towards Chorto, there are the beaches of VathiaSpillia and Olive, with small pebbles and blue water. Olive has a small beach bar and VathiaSpillia has a cantina operating in the summer. The beaches south of Milina are more isolated and the farther you go, the less people you meet.

Milina can be reached via the coastal road from Chorto or from the inland village of Lafkos, as in both cases you should first pass through Argalasti.
