Per Capita water Availability of different countries

Knowledge

The world's #water demand is increasing at a rate that is twice as fast as population growth, with projections indicating a doubling every 20 years and by #2030, it is estimated that over half of the global #population could be confronted with water #shortages.

It is crucial to note that a country is classified as experiencing #water scarcity if its available water per capita falls below 1700 cubic meters, and if it falls below 500 cubic meters, it is deemed to be facing "absolute water scarcity." In #Pakistan, the challenge extends beyond water scarcity; pollution of rivers and underground water sources exacerbates the situation.

It is imperative to recognize that underground water is not only a current resource but also a legacy for future generations. As the rainy season approaches, instead of relying solely on pumping out underground water for various purposes such as floor cleaning, car washing, or restroom sanitation, we should prioritize the use of rainwater. Conserving groundwater is paramount to safeguarding this vital resource.
It's worth noting that even the smallest raindrops collectively contribute to significant water reserves, highlighting the importance of water conservation in mitigating the risk of floods. Save water, save lives.
