We introduced the fillies to ground driving today. Very basic light cotton ropes hooked to the halter, with no bit, to get them used to having a pulling sensation as well as the ropes running down their bodies.
We will continue this in the round pen as well as the open paddock but will introduce a surcingle to keep the reins up on body as well as having a cinch around their girth.
“Gee” and “Haw” are right and left commands, respectively, that are given to direct horse and dog teams. In England, the commands are just the opposite.
