I recently purchased a 1978 Piper Lance II (PA32RT300) and had a hard time finding videos from other Ttail Lance owners. So here’s a video of me landing and departing from a 3200ft runway at Orange County airport (KOMH) is northwest VA. Ttails have a stigma attached to them because of the poor short field takeoff and landing characteristics but that wasn’t an issue for me. I seldom land on runways shorter than 4000ft. So, I wanted to prove to myself, others, that shortish runways aren’t a problem. For anyone considering a Ttail Lance don’t hesitate. They are great planes and a ton of fun to fly. Plus, they stand out from other planes on the ramp.
