The Google Pixel 8 Pro has been my goto Android phone since it launched just over six months ago. But in that time we've had a whole new generation of challengers, not least the beastly S24 Ultra here, which on paper pretty much clowns the Pixel across the board. I've been using these two for the past several months, and taken hundreds of photos and a whole bunch of videos, as usual, to decide between them.

But the need to pick a winner here as we do in all our comparisons is complicated by the fact that the Pixel has had some pretty generous discounts lately, pushing it well below both the S24 Ultra or even the more affordable S24 Plus. SO can the Ultra really justify what is at this point a five hundred dollar price difference?
