Plane Engine failure (Intermittent) low altitude in a CFM Shadow

A close call shortly after take off Around 50ft in altitude before the engine begins to fail sporadically. The cause was a small condenser which had broken away from its bracket and was bouncing on the engine, when in contact with the engine it earthed and I had power otherwise it lost power. The bigger flying issue is the dilemma engine failure or intermittent engine failure, which is worse? Personally Intermittent seems far worse as you have to make loads of decisions, if I had to do it again I would have gone straight into the field at 1min 4 secs. I was just lucky it kept going.
