Osaka International Airport (大阪国際空港) (IATA: ITM, ICAO: RJOO), often referred to as Itami Airport (伊丹空港), is the main regional airport for the Kansai region of Japan, which includes the major cities of Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe. It is classified as a firstclass airport and is located closest to Kyoto, 36 kilometres (22 mi) southwest of Kyoto Station. Itami Airport is very small, covering an area of only 311 hectares (768 acres).
