Follow
Christopher Scotese

(new music) This animation shows the plate tectonic and paleogeographic evolution of India from 200 million years ago to the presentday. India was originally part of the supercontinent of Gondwana. About 200 million years ago, Pangea rifted apart. To the west of India, the western Indian Ocean opened. About 120 million years ago, India rifted away from Antarctica and Australia opening the southern Indian Ocean.
