Platypus are weird. They lay eggs, glow in ultraviolet light, and sweat milk. But despite that, they're still mammals (monotremes)... as much as it seems like they aren't. So why are Platypus so strange?

Part of it is that while they're technically related to other mammals, they're really only closely related to Echidnas, the only other type of Monotreme. Because they're so distantly related to basically every other mammal, they're a ton of weird stuff about platypus that you won't find anywhere else.
