This drill isn't as much about teaching you how to perform a lateral slide, rather it is about how to build upon your current skills. As we progress in anything, we must continue to challenge ourselves in order to get better. This drill teaches you some new ideas on how to improve on your stamina and work on some accuracy along with some simple field awareness.
