Coming to you from my workshop in Destin, Florida! We are having a fantastic time and enjoying this stunning location! What a blessing to be able to work and paint in such a lovely setting! Today I filmed the demonstration I shared with the group. The demo for today was focused on painting with a poetic license. We tend to get way too literal, and it can take the joy out of being an artist! While we want to be true to the beauty that nature affords us, there are times when you have to make alterations in order to create an attractive painting. Making adjustments to a shore line curve, or rearranging the grass clusters is what it's all about! So today, I show how you can rework your scene to suit a better composition and tell a more interesting story.

I hope you enjoy this video! I love the ocean in the background. Destin, Florida is near an Air Force base so there are large air planes and helicopters and such, flying over head, but that's all a part of it!
